I really like that transducer setup Baggs. Clear sounding, true temperature readings, easy to pack away for surf transit or a long paddle.

Got my new lipo today...4amps....giddyup!
On average ill get around 5 hours run time with my downscanner and stern light......

Will be purchasing another two or so for multi day camping along the south coast in spring early summer
So a battery a day sort of thang...

My SLA battery will now be used as a solar bank battery.....once ive purchased the right solar panel to be hull mounted to the front, ill be using the Imax B6 smart charger from the SLA to my lipo at night and then let it charge back up during the day if im not near my 4x4

Thought i would add better photos of my anchor setup
1. 2.5kg dumbell
2. Cave dive spool
3. Bungy cord
4. Brass clip and buoy.....

Ive had the dumbell now since 2008....never ever not caught the bottom im on....perfect.....takes about 5 seconds to deply in 15m of water...and just winds atraight back up...throw out and forget...

The trick is in both the bungy (lots of it) and retrieving it.....bring it all up in the cockpit and then wind it on over a few seconds etc...if you attempt to wind it in and stick on the reef you will do what is naturally expected and what ive seen a couple of times....someone will flip their kayak into their own berley....not good!...but secretly funny ha ha ha

Baggs, I did a writeup on my Evo re' the solar panel. I'll dig out some of the info and post it up. I did exactly what you're doing, run the loads off the battery and use the solar to maintain/top up the battery.

Wish I could. It was on the old site and long deleted now. I have copies of the posts saved but still a bit of dicking around to put it all together.

The old site? :D No.
The solar panel on multi-day trips? I wish. I'll be running an experiment to see how thick the dust can get before the panel stops working.
